September 3, 2021: Freshman Year Begins

 

Dear Diary,

My first day of high school at Fort Lauderdale High School was today. To be honest, I was anxious to start this new chapter in my life. But as soon as I walked into that pre-law class, something clicked. We were talking about criminal, civil, and constitutional law when I started to feel drawn to the concept of becoming a prosecutor and taking up the cause of justice in a courtroom. Even though I'm only getting started, I already know that law is what I want to do. It seems very liberating to think that one can speak for others, stand up for their rights, and represent them. I believe I could excel at this. I have no idea where this will lead.
