November 1, 2044: My Life’s Work

  I started the "Stand for the Silenced" campaign two years ago, and it has already had a significant effect. The number of law students wishing to specialize in domestic abuse law has increased, and more universities are providing courses on the subject. I believe I'm making a difference in this sector by influencing its future in addition to my work in the courts. I can see how every step of the way—from my first day at Fort Lauderdale High to this point—has developed my passion for this profession when I reflect on my path. I've met forensic psychologists, victim advocates, law enforcement personnel, and social workers, all of whom have helped me to better understand how to prosecute cases. It takes a team to accomplish this, and I'm honored to be on that team. Although emotionally draining, this line of work is also highly rewarding.
